In the Hungarian education system, it is obligatory for the non-native-Hungarian and/or foreign students to study and to get grades in Hungarian language and literature subjects.

Students who do not speak Hungarian as their mother tongue have the opportunity to learn Hungarian as a foreign language in divided groups in Hungarian language and literature classes.

Our non-Hungarian students can take advantage of the legal exemption and choose Hungarian as a foreign language as their matura subject.

Those who study Hungarian as a foreign language in divided groups can also take the national final examination in the subject of Hungarian language and literature, waiving the legal exemption. There has already been an example of this in our secondary school.

The language level of non-Hungarian students applying to the secondary school is assessed in an incoming test, and we provide feedback on the students progress several times during the studies, for example in Grade 10 at the semi-matura and in Grade 12 at the first semester closing trial-matura exam.

We consider it a priority to ensure the development of our students Hungarian language skills with modern teaching and learning methods, various techniques, authentic Hungarian language teaching materials and individualized forms of tasks.

We consider it essential that our students are active participants in the learning process and acquire language skills that can be used in everyday life. We teach our national culture, historical events, outstanding personalities and traditions, while also creating an accepting atmosphere for other nations, cultures and languages.

Highly qualified teachers help our students progress in their studies, tailored to their individual ability, performance and rhythm. The great advantage of personalized small group differentiated education is that it helps to develop individual skills, supports talented students, and helps students who are struggling catch up.

As a result of bilingual education, students may be able to pursue their university studies in either Hungarian or English.
